Ch. 6 A Girl, a Guitar and a Job

Kyle’s POV

Okay, so far being a teen is great. High school is a lot more fun than prime one, except for that Maths test. I will never get the hang of those equations! Did decently though. The good news is last class must end pretty soon. Yep, there goes the bell.

Just as I was heading out, I saw her. A girl called her Bella and true to her name she is. Continue reading

Ch. 5 Growing Up

But while Kyle had what he considered as a decent childhood, time had flown by and his birthday was just around the corner. In fact, it was that very same day. Most surprisingly Delaney hadn’t forgotten – she even got him two apples. Kyle had never received anything from her before and when he saw them, he couldn’t help but give her a puzzled look. Ch. 4 Dreaming of a puppy

Despite the long way home, being hungry and all the other difficulties he had to face, Kyle felt quite a happy child.  Even though he was forced to experience life’s ruff side ever since he was born, he kept thinking positive and hoping that everything would eventually get better. Also, living in poverty had thought him to cherish all those little good moments that would now and then come his way and feel grateful they existed. He remembered the dialogue he and Delaney had had when he had mentioned inviting a kid over when they were still at Starlight Shores. Continue reading

Ch.2 A Walk Round the City

The boy had run for over 20 minutes, when he arrived at a wooden shack. The sign next to it read “Junkyard”. Kyle knew that this was not an appropriate place for a 10-year-old but he wanted some time on his own. Plus, the place seemed decent enough he convinced himself as he opened the door. The shack consisted of only one room which had a table, a deck and a bookshelf. Being a keen reader, Kyle grabbed an adventure book and curled up near the deck.

Ch.1 New Home

It has been some time since the Donovan’s last move to a new town. Those usually occured Delaney was acting out, starting fights or simply doing what she’s best at – irritating the others in every way possible. Not only was she picking on total strangers, but she was also being mean to her own son, as if he was guilty of her personal failure. Sure, if he hadn’t been born, perhaps she would have been able to marry someone rich and live off his money, but who’s to say it would have worked out? Continue reading
