Ch.1 New Home

It has been some time since the Donovan’s last move to a new town. Those usually occured Delaney was acting out, starting fights or simply doing what she’s best at – irritating the others in every way possible. Not only was she picking on total strangers, but she was also being mean to her own son, as if he was guilty of her personal failure. Sure, if he hadn’t been born, perhaps she would have been able to marry someone rich and live off his money, but who’s to say it would have worked out? Knowing her temper, the paparazzi would have a daily supply of shocking photos and reports like: “Delaney Donovan has been caught insulting a waitress”. Now, which self-respectable person would be able to put up with having a bad reputation thanks to their spouse? Anyway, this time they were forced to move after there were a series of complaints for various insults against Delaney back at Starlight Shores, so they ended up catching the first bus to their new home – Sunset Valley.

Well, the place was not very home-like, let alone cozy. All its furniture consisted of a bench, an old table and a couple of chairs. To Kyle, though, it seemed ok compared to their previous dwelling – at least it was sunny.

-So, what do you think, Teddy? … Yes, I also find it nice. How about you, mom?
-Nice?! Are you blind – this place is an abandoned park? How can it be nice? – Delanie yelled at one of her usual fits of rage – And stop talking to that toy. It can’t hear you, got me? Now go find something to eat cause I’m certainly not going to do it for you.
-Yes, mum – Kyle answered, hardly holding back his tears, and ran off.
Why is she always mad at me? What have I done wrong? the boy thought as his tears were starting to run down his cheeks.

Yeah, me too. It will be hard to do, though, as the mother keeps getting those wishes to buy toys. Quite unusual I must say.:)
